What is "photograph archiving" and how can I benefit"?
Here in the 21st century, most of our lives are documented online through social media. The digital world is only getting larger and if you want to share anything with loved ones, you just snap a photo on your smart phone and upload it. Many young people don’t even have photo albums because everything is viewed on a screen. This is good for convenience and for sharing, but not so good for the photographs that were made prior to digital.
Maybe you have stacks of photos from your family that are sitting in shoe boxes and old deteriorating albums that no one sees. Many of these pictures have been passed down from your parents, grandparents and even great grandparents. You have been planning to organize them for years, but the task got too big for you to tackle.
Or are you a business that has documents, letters, or photos that you need digitized and organized for fast access in a company archive? My services will organize your photographic collection, digitize it, and build a photo library for fast access. If you have sensitive or deteriorating documents or photographs, I am able to preserve most printed media, film, tintype and even glass plate negatives, with archival storage.
My clients have included estates, company archives and photograph collections. I am now offering this for the everyday family who wants to pass down their family history in an organized way, that can be given to every family member on a flash drive.
Pricing: Each project is unique to a customer. I will quote according to the number of images you have, the services required and storage devices needed. An estimated turnaround time will be given with the quote.
What makes me the choice to do this work for you? My background is working with photographs in different capacities for nearly 30-years. I hold an MFA in Photography and have continued professional development in photo preservation with Northeast Document and Conservation Center and the George Eastman Museum. My experience is broad, yet specialized in several specific areas. Photo preservation is one of them.
On another note, I know the pain that comes with what can happen when your photographic collection is not digitized and backed up. Read my BLOG explaining own personal experience with waiting too long to do it!

"When our family needed to organize and digitize nearly ten decades of family photographs we made the decision to work with a professional photo preservationist rather than a mail-in service. With our family background of historians and collectors, it was important that our photos be handled with the care and respect that would assure our family history and memories would be preserved accurately for future generations. We were impressed with Terri Cappucci’s experience in preservation, and care for the story inherent in a collection of photographs. Terri is very well organized, and gave us excellent communication about the parameters of the project, and the progress at every step. She does not hesitate to ask for clarification, or answers if she finds potential issues with a specific photograph. I highly recommend using Terri Cappucci for your family and historical photo preservation and digital archiving."

"I hired Terri to transfer and archive old family movies from 8mm movie film, to digital and I can't give her enough praise for the job she did. Her prices were incredibly reasonable, she did a great job on working with the films, was extremely friendly, a delight to work with and communicated with me often about the process. She made every attempt to save me money when possible and was very considerate about my concerns. She’s very knowledgeable about her work and I felt that my irreplaceable family films were in very safe hands. I would hire her again in a heartbeat and I strongly recommend her for any job of this sort."

" I am so glad there is a person out there that knows what they are doing with glass plate negatives. I hired Terri to make digital, preserve and archive 25 of these that were gifted to me from my great grandfather. She was able to print me a couple of prints that is hanging in our family room. Very friendly, great communication and her knowledge is extensive. This service is priceless and I am recommending her to anyone with old time photographs and anything else she does. This was an investment for my family and well worth it. Thanks again, Terri."
