"Leaving" is a photographic study of fallen leaves, as they evolve into the later season of existence. Gently removed from its exterior environment and respectfully portrayed in a new atmosphere representing each one’s individuality, the perception of wisdom and beauty presents itself. As color and strength begin to leave its core, the durability and character is captured by its form, texture and unique sophistication. A reminder of what it once was, what it has weathered, that it’s still here, and has an unspoken purpose. This is an ongoing project with the intent of rephotographing these same leaves as they dry from year to year. Some of the photographs in this collection are featured in Creative Quarterly issue #30/#31, Spring/Summer 2013 , as well as an Rfoto Folio, a curated online gallery for Fine Art Photography.
